Re: Bohecker College in Ohio
I've been attending Hondros (Cincinnati) since Jan., and I haven't had any of the experiences that your friend speaks of. Do you know what term she started in?
BTW, it is NOT your fault that your school has let you down.

Re: Bohecker College in Ohio
She started in the 2nd term, which started in June. I'll have to ask tomorrow when I go to class if the one girl has talked to her, see if it got better for her over there. I guess, I'm just really angry at myself for not doing the research on Bohecker. When I had my meeting with my admin rep, he hyped it up so much...made it seem like it was so awesome, so naturally I was excited. and now I'm just completely frustrated and disappointed with how this school is. They are not NLN accredited, which is what is screwing the students that want to continue to the RN. But we've all made the decision not to pursue it through Bohecker.

Re: Bohecker College in Ohio
Well, I am very sorry that this has happened to you.
Have you or any of the other students discussed your frustrations with administration? If not, that may be where you should start. I don't know if it would do you any good, but you could always consult an attorney to see if there is anything that can be done about your situation. (It stinks if you have to start over with your education, but maybe you could at least do it without having to invest even more money!)
Bohecker owes it to you, and every other paying student who has trusted them with their futures to provide knowledgeable, professional instructors who will help you to reach your potential. (And keep their accreditation!)

Re: Bohecker College in Ohio
I think I am going to go to the DON tomorrow. The whole class turned in these Test Protest forms, and I just got my instructors final decision on those through email and she's refusing to go with what the book said and change the answers. She said we have to go by what she says in lecture. There are 2 girls in my class now that failed this class last term, that chose to re-take the class at Bohecker, from what they said 8 people from their class last term failed this class. The one girl told me that they tried talking to the DON about the way the class was being taught, and she basically said oh well. She didn't do anything about it. This girl said that the instructor told her that she didn't actually fail last term, but she threw out some questions on the exam. The girl initially failed the final exam, but with the instructor getting rid of some questions, that put her in a passing grade. Well the instructor only had the failed grade recorded and didn't record the new grade yet, and disposed of the tests, then when the instructor had to turn in final grades, she only had the failing grade the girl got.

Re: Bohecker College in Ohio
Hello, I go to Bohecker in Cincinnati. I recently completed my LPN program and I am waiting to take the boards next week. (Nervous lol) Anyway, we did have a lot of problems at my school, it is the newest of all the campuses and they struggled through most of our program. We finally got a DON in my last term so things are getting better. We have some really good teachers and some idiot teachers. Some of them I can't even figure out how the function as a nurse let alone an instructor. I have recently been told by a friend still in school that they are really cleaning house since we left. Good. I am planning on going back for my RN in the next term or so.
But if anyone is wanting to go to Bohecker Cincinnati I would recommend it. Just be very careful who your admin rep. is. There have been people who have had a lot of problems with certain reps. Loosing their shot records, other paperwork etc...
Good luck to you all.

I'm a student at Bohecker - Columbus in the RN program. I did not attend the LPN program there.

Re: Bohecker College in Ohio
THANK YOU ALLLLLL for the insight on Bohecker. I visited Bohecker, took the HESI test--got GREAT scores! I even got a 100% on one of the sections! I was sooooo excited about enrolling...until I read the comments on this site & as a result, did my own research. Although Bohecker DOES currently have approval from the BON, it is only PROVISIONAL & there is indeed a chance that they MAY NOT get their full approval back. For me, that is too great of a chance to take; $21,405.00 is waaaaay too much money to spend on a program that may end up being worth "0". So again, thank you all for your input, you may have saved me lots of money, time & disappointment. | | No. 27 |

Re: Bohecker College in Ohio
I'm glad you decided on not to go there. I went there last year, and am returning to Cincinnati State. As a returning student I haven't even been able to get an advisor to call me back. Some of my friends have already moved on to the RN and program and HATE it! They have been kicked out of clinical sites, they're in nursing homes for clinical's as a RN. Everything is crazy, they're lacking teachers, and may lose accreditation for good! They have compltely wiped out their financial aid officers and brought down people from Columbus. I decided after hearing all of this, I wasn't going back. On top of it, you can't transfer credits anywhere to get your BSN but Kettering, and they may have approval from an online school now. However, if they loose accrediation for good, I don't think credits transfer anywhere. I have to start ALL over at Cincinnati State because they won't take Boheckers credits since they're not accredited. Check out Cincinnati State, can't beat $80 a credit hour. You can also go at night and choose you're own schedule. They have a waiting list but I was told people drop off and it goes pretty fast. Also, if you're a LPN going to the RN you get top priority! Good luck!
