Anyone work for Nursing by Demand out of Dayton? Agency LPN?

by tashaLPN2006 Premium Member

Does anyone here work for nursing by demand? there was an ad in the paper and they called me for an interview but i was just curious if anyone worked for them? I Know it's agency nursing and that they mostly fill LTC facilities. she said there is a lot of driving involved. mostly i just wondered on the average pay? do they pay for milelage or travel? are you offered a lot of shifts or does it reallly vary a lot? I'm going to be going back to school in Oct for my RN so i was just looking for someting prn or part time that will work around my schedule since my school times will vary depending on clinicals, and classes per term. thanks!

yeah she wouldnt tell me the going rate over the phone, but i can understand, they probably want you in there to "convince" you to work with them vs. another company! I wish i could find a travel company that had somthing in ohio...since i'm in TX now i could apply get the job and then move home right when i'm supposed to start there, but so far i've found nada in that departmen!!! lol...agency may be the way to go, but i'm not driving more than 50 miles from home, i dont want to have to stay overnight anywhere nor do i want to put in over a 16 hr day with drive time + 12 hr shift, that's just crazyiness. Maybe they pay milage and/or gas too! I worked for a home health place here that gave full timers $450 per month for car/gas/milage expenses...it's was great until gas went over #3.50 per gal...then even my little saturn 4 cyl standard was eating up that money + more when you add in oil changes and maintenence. blah!

Nurse Re: Anyone work for Nursing by Demand out of Dayton? Agency LPN?
I am a LPN who has been working for Nursing BY Demand for about 3 weeks and I LOVE it. The people there are very kind, caring, and respectful. They are real accomadating and will work with u as far as scheduling and the location of your clients. The thing I love about it most is the owner is a nurse who prefers to work out in the field while her friends run the office. If anyone was considering an agency I would reccomend this one. I have worked for other agencies and I rate this one #1. I hope this has helped anyone considering to apply here decision easier.
