Any Cleveland Clinic Nurses out there

I am not one, but i would like to work there when i graduate from Huron School of Nursing. Are you a Cleveland Clinic nurse?

I will be in August! I worked there all last summer as a nurse extern, and then again over winter break. I absolutely love it and can't imagine working anywhere else!

What is an extern? Like an intern i assume. How exciting for you! Can I ask what their starting pay rate is? If you don't want to say, i understand, but i hear so many different amounts. From 20/hour to 26/hour. Thanks!

I was in a program that they actually call the "Nurse Associate" program. It's a program for nursing students that are a year or less away from graduation. You work one-on-one with a nurse, and basically do everything with them, except give meds. It was one of the best experiences I've had. When we came back to school in September, most of my friends felt so lost, because they hadn't done clinicals since June, but I felt so comfortable, because I had the experience....

As far as the pay, I'm actually not real sure what the starting pay is for an RN, because I haven't gotten that far yet. I know as a nurse associate, I was paid $12/hour, with $1 shift differential.

Yes, I would love to. I am going to Huron which is part of the Clinic, Eastern Region. I know they have a program where they help you pay back your loans if you work for them after graduation. The Clinic has such a great reputation, I would just love to be a part of it.

I know. I am taking my A&P II class there, and it's like a little city. I was amazed at how big it is. What do you do there?

I go through Tri-C, but i think some of the other students in class go to Case and some are just employees of the Clinic. Its in the Lerner Research Bldg.
