Y2K and individual health concerns

by Sharon

Hello,

I was always warned of the Ides (15th) of March but not the 1st. I am being inundated with calls regarding how individuals with chronic illnesses should prepare for Y2K problem.

I tried referring some to National Disease Organizations and they got blown off. (i.e. "There are not any problems due to Y2K that will impact your condition. Even if there was, there are no laws requiring the providers to do anything.")

So I will be writing my own bulletin for employees on dealing with Y2K and chronic illnesses. It will include such items like: immediately scheduling an appointment with your health care provider to discuss the issue, what to have on hand, and how to check out equipment and other supplies.

I have reviewed many Internet Y2K sites and most of the health information is too non-specific. If anyone has seen a good resource for health Y2K information, even if it is disease specific, I would appreciate knowing how to access it.

I will be moving fast to prevent repetitive phone calls on the subject Thanks.
