I don't know if this is the correct place to post this question. I started working in tele health as a triage RN. I left the hospitals for many reasons. In any case We are now being told that each of us is legally liable for any calls holding in the Que, if there is a negative outcome. I want to know how am I legally responsible for a patient that i haven't even spoken too, and don't know they exist. I feel like that is telling a hospital nurse that you might work in Ortho on the 4th floor but if a patient is in need anywhere else in the hospital I would be liable? I feel like this is a scare tactic to have us answer calls faster. They are stating we are a virtual ER. Could some one advise? So far I have not found any information, or in different states regulations either. Thank You in Advance.
