Occupational Physicals

by Jana

The company I work for is exploring the possibilities of in-house physicals (non-DOT only). We currently send employees to a clinic, which is very costly. Although I did in-house physicals for 7 years with another company, I'm not sure of the legal aspects. (standing orders for physicals? liabilities? etc.)

I have always done pre-employement physicals, in house. It saves the company alot of money. All you need is a good company policy on this, and what will be included in the physical.(Things such as drug tests, work/personal medical history, testing, such as hearing & vision, and anything else your company may want). It always covered at least 25% of my work day.
I know you posted this in 1999, but just read it.
