What's the weirdest baby name?

Specialties Ob/Gyn Nursing Q/A

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

:chuckle CUTIE NAMES!!!hihi! happy new year and wishin you more cutie names to come...I suggest names like " jelly bean" and "Doodie"...:uhoh3: just kiddin'...Godbless!

Ha! This is interesting. Once I had a mommy who name her premie Dash - You know the character in the movie Incredibles. She said that she wanted her baby to be so strong like the character in the movie but we thought that was rather weird, she must've really got inspired from the movie.

Other weid names that I can think of - funny Chinese character. Once there was this baby whose name is literally translated to purple light from Chinese to English.

Has (this is the pronouncing here 1st) Ash-o-lay spelled A double s hole been posted yet?

As a nurse are you allowed to tell your patient that they just named thier kid a bad word?

How about - Chlamydia. The mom thought it was a name for a flower. Even after the mom was told what it really was - she kept her baby girl named that! Poor kid.

There should be some sort of government-funded therapy program for kids with names like that.

Could you imagine, being a few feet down the street and someone yell "Hey SH*T" Or even better "Hey SH*TONYA" A bunch of people would turn around like "Well f u, too, ya jerk" lol.

When my wife was pregnant we knew it was going to be a boy, so one afternoon we were discussing names for boys.

Deathly serious and with a straight face, my daughters suggestion: Unleaded Gas.....

We settled for Nathan..

Some of these names are crazy! When I worked at a hospital in Colorado, we actually had a young mom name her daughter Abcde,

pronounced Ab-ca-dee. Poor little girl!

The nurses tried to explain to her that she needed to actually put a name on the birth certificate and not just letters and the mom insisted that it was her name!

:) I've actually seen that one before, too (pronounced Ab-se-dee)!

:) The first baby born in my city in 2000 was named "Milenia".

:) I've also seen "Formica Rose"--parent's got the name from a color of counter top.

I've seen so many strange ones, but I just can't remember! I need to start keeping a log!!

I went to school with a sugar and candy. They are identical twins and very nice, I just thought the names were "different". Also went to school with a fella by the name of couda (coo-da), I am not sure if I spelled it right, but all I could think was hmmmmm.....

I'm sure this has already been expressed by others but....

It'd be bad enough being a child growing up w/ a kooky name - we all know how brutally honest other kids can be in expressing their preceptions/thoughts, let alone a teenager when we all feel "kooky" anyway. But what about when these kids become adults? What a struggle it must be to be taken seriously, you know?

lololololooooo:roll :rotfl: , Dabunny. I am sorry I just thought that was so funny. Wonder if anyone has considered Dapayne as a name:clown: .
