    Just thought of two more.

When I was a fairly new grad we had a male candy striper named Rhett Butler. He was a scrawny kid who didn't look anything like the original. Poor guy, I bet he took a lot of ribbing.

When MASH was so popular we got a new doctor in town named Frank Burn. The first time they paged him overhead the entire hospital stopped and did a double take. Needless to say, he didn't like the comparison. Can't say I blame him.

We have a urologist in town who does the vasectomies - Dr. Richard Finder (yes, Dick Finder).

    Took care of a:
    Latrine - girl
    Addonis - boy
Sisters - Emerald Merchant & Diamond Merchant
    Yankee - Boy
Meconian - boy (swear she just misspelled meconium)

Girl in high school - Usnavy (as in U.S. Navy)

The mom of one the boys in my sons class is Snow White (can't look at a parent list without busting out laughing).

    Woops!! I almost forgot...
I work peds and was passing around nurses notes and saw the little "M" next to the name of a newborn. His name was Joi (I'm thinking the name is pronounced Joy). I asked the other nurse if these people named this poor baby boy "joy".
Oh no The dad's nickname is Joey.....and they didn't know how to spell it .

I had an adorable little sudanese couple who had a baby girl-we put the crib cards on the bassinet-pink and it says "I'm a girl!" and in shadow print it says Female -when I asked her name they sweetly said 'Fe-Mal-ee" (emphasis on the MAL) They were sweet as hell and that little girl was a knock-out!:angel2:

We had a couple from another country (for the life of me, I can't remember which one!) - anyway they wanted to name their newborn baby boy "Farty". Well, one of the nurses tried to gently explain to them what Fart meant in English!

    Sarin

I guess no one told mom it's also the name of a nasty nerve gas developed by the Germans. (and used in a terrorist attack on the Tokyo subway a few years ago)
