In nursing school during clinicals, one of my fellow student nurses had a patient named L-a. So she figured that her name was pronounced "La". When she called her that the patient said "No, no it's Ladasha!" Go figure.

If this thread can keep going for another 8 months (which I don't see being a problem at all), it will be 10 years old.

And it will have 400 entries for La-dash-a, 300 for the Jello Twins, and 100 each for Chlamydia, Female, Meconium, and Abcde!

Apostacles. No idea if I spelled that right. According to the parents it's Greek for Apostle and is pronounced ah-poss-tah-cleez. The parents had such nice, normal names too. Apostrophe is the nicest nickname that kid will be teased with growing up.

Earlier today I visited the Missouri History Museum, and one of the main exhibits highlights the 1904 World's Fair, held in St. Louis. I learned a lot from this cool (and FREE!) museum situated in Forest Park, but the most disturbing fact?

A baby girl was born in a tent during preparations at the fair. (That's bad enough, right?)

    And her name?

Louisiana Purchase O'Leary. She lived to be 100.
