I HATE my schedule, but where I live this is the only option for working and I am happy to work. I love my co-workers and the docs, I just hate the schedule. Right now because we just lost a few nurses due to military PCS and their replacements have not arrived yet we have to work 7 12hr shifts per 2 week period plus one day of weekend call. I am hoping this will get better once the new nurses are incorporated into the schedule. We rarely get 3 days off in a row.

I hate my schedule also. 7 shifts in 2 wks and one night of call. Lately it has been 8 shifts a week because we have also had some nurses leave. I am exhausted and getting burnt out quickly! I am hoping to be PRN in Sept.

I wish PRN was an option where I work.

My first job out of nursing school was PRN. Since we have moved, I have been full time for the last year and have had my fill. We are so short though they will still need me plenty.

I just got weekend option at my work which will start in August. I will work Sat-Sun nights from 7p to 7A. We do not have to work holidays unless they fall on the weekend which is nice. We still have to do on call once a month....sometimes twice a month which I don't like ...but am grateful to get this 2 day shift with the full benefits.
