"We're pregnant" annoys me too. I don't care if the male is velcroed to the woman's hip, has given 7 sperm samples, been to each appointment, been poked and prodded where no man has gone before, he is not pregnant! I think the "we are expecting" is much more appropriate IMO!

The "daddy is babysitting" has got to go too. Seems like that one is sort of fading though.

I know for me, I love my man and I consider us as One. When we do get pregnant, I'll probably still say, "Hey guess what? We're pregnant!!":heartbeat

Can we all agree to get rid of "He's babysitting the kids today."

Also, "actually" gets me. I can't tell you how many sentences start with "actually," even when they're correcting with the same exact thing. It sounds pretentious.

Another one who hates it when dads "babysit" their own children.

Someone should tell my nephew about the "actually" thing. He's 3-1/2 years old and it's his new favorite word. Problem is, he's also still stuck on his pacifier, especially when he gets tired. Do you know how ridiculous it is to hear a groggy 3-1/2 year old say, "Actually...[blah blah blah]" from behind a Nuk???

chipotle is southwestern style pepper/seasoning. it's either something u love or hate...

Dh and I, "we" were pregnant, I guess......I never took offense when I heard the term, even when I felt surely I would die from heartburn and explode in size, and that my tummy could stretch no more------I really did consider him expectant right along with me. Heck he even gained weight with me....

Lord knows it's not that important to me what we say/do when pregnant, not by comparison to the REARING of those kids the next ohhhhh 21 years or so.

I can get over a term more easily than that. Maybe cause I am dealing with a teenager and his issues now, and this seems such a small thing to get up in arms over. Or maybe I am just getting old. Dunno....but I am just easy about it either way. Pregnancy is but a blink in time compared to parenthood and its issues to me. It was a great ride for me, for the most part, one I will never forget. Time just has a way of mellowing and softening me.

Deb - I think it depends on what bugs a person . . "we're pregnant" certainly does not bug me.

However, I will probably hit the next person who says "You Go Girl!":angryfire

I agree 100%! What ever happened to "We're expecting a baby"? Now, that's accurate!
Thank you. Thank you. and what's so wrong with a male co-worker announcing "We're expecting a baby." Nope, all i hear is "we're pregnant, we're trying to get pregnant, we're going to get pregnant in Oct 2007." Maybe I miss the days when people announced their expected babies after they were actually expecting them. spare me the details.

I would guess it would make you just a little less angry after working with me for one day on call. I do epidurals for pregnant women and girls every week for whom the only contribution to the pregnancy or raising of the child was the few cc's of semen they contributed at conception. Haven't been seen or heard from since. Mom's going to raise that baby with no emotional, financial, or any other kind of support from the "baby daddy."

At least the men from the "we're pregnant" crowd are there and taking their responsibilities seriously.

By the way, I've looked. I can't seem to find the definition for the word "diffinition." Any help?
Although I hold multiple degrees and credentials. I still do not hold any such certificate in typing.

Urgh! I agree with you 100% on that one! The Girl Guides (Canada's version of Girl Scouts) actually adopted that as their new catchphrase.....made me very sad

You know I posted the link so that everyone could look at it. And some of you have. I enjoyed reading the points of view from those who, as mothers, support the 'we're pregnant' thing. But the list contained lots of other phrases we are all about ready to put to rest. I found humor in the list.
