Twin Vaginal Delivery w/o Pain meds

Hello,
This is a question for myself. I am currently 17w3d pregnant with twins as a surrogate. this is my 5th and most likely last pregnancy. Delivery #3 was completely natural and delivery #4 was 36 out of 39 hrs med free w/an induction but due to a threatened c section I went w/an epi.

I have not done alot of research but I did read somewhere that it is NOT wise to do an unmedicated twin delivery. What is your take or experience on this? I am weighing my options as to what type of birth plan I would like to have if baby A stays head down!

TIA!

Please schedule an appointment with your OB/midwife and anesthesia care provider to discuss your options in detail. This is a decision that will be made based on your OB history, your provider's experience and comfort level with twin and non-vertex deliveries, the availability of ancillary staff, etc.

We really can't advise you.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy delivery!

thanks for the advice, I will ask my OB but the thing is I will deliver at a military hospital and have no clue who will be delivering me until I walk through those doors of L&D. I "know" other surrogates who have delivered twins med free, just want to be prepared as possible w/my decision.

Hello,
Congratulations on the new lives you're bringing into the world!

Please know that this subject is not one we could advise you on, as we're not MDs, nor do we know all the ins & outs of your particular situation. It is against this website's Terms of service to give medical advice, including answers to questions such as this. We advise you to make an appointment with the OB or midwife to discuss your concerns.

That said, I think I speak for all the members when I wish you all the best of health and happiness in the coming months.
