Suggestions, please?!

  1. 1 Hi everyone! I am currently going into my senior year of a BSN program. I am on my winter break and go back to school January 23/24th. I live in Long island ny and was wondering how I can go about getting additional certifications or what I should do either now or over the summer (or both) to further my education and help with getting a job. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? I love L & D and womens health so I would like to do something to help facilitate getting a job in that area. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

Join AWHONN. Take a beginning EFM course. Maybe look into getting a CLC certification.

I would do an AWHONN fetal monitoring course, and NRP. If you can, ACLS would be good, too.

CLC is certified lactation counselor, which is not the same thing as an IBCLC, international board certified lactation consultant.
