by brown.maryann11 May 1, '12Hello,
I have been a lurker for the past weeks, and I really appreciate all the information that is on here, thought I would start a new thread, I could really use some advise.
I will be starting a new position in the OB department. Three months I will be orienting in postpartum, and three months in L&D. I graduated in 2010, and have had a hard time getting to acute care. I am so excited to begin, as this has been my dream, but given that all my experience has been in clinics, I am nervous. My question is, what is the expectations of preceptors with preceptee's? If you have been a preceptor before and have trained a "new" nurse, I would really appreciatate any advice as to how to prepare. Thanks so much!
