Need Clarification on Prenatal Visits...

I am a student, and I was going through my notes from the instructor.

She told us that for prenatal care, that you go once per month until 34 weeks and then go every two weeks.

I was thinking...considering "term" is considered 37 weeks or later...I personally started mine at 24 weeks going every two.

Do you think this is a typo?

Where I use to work and the MD around there did it like this
once a month up to 26 wks
twice a month up to 36 wks
every wk until delivery

If your book says 24 but the notes say 34 it's probably a typo but I would clarify it with the instructor so you know what she wants.

If it is a healthy, low risk pregnancy, that does not sound unreasonable at all. I went to a group of midwives and I had biweekly appointments from about 32(?) to 37 weeks. The weekly appointments didn't start until very late in my pregnancy.

The standard around here is
q4 weeks until 28 weeks then
q2 weeks until 36, then
q week until delivery.

For a high-risk pregnancy, the visits are more frequent.
I'd check with my instructor, as it does indeed sounds like a typo.
