My innards are falling out !!!! EEEKKKK

Well at thirty years old I figured I had at least another 40-50 years before I was faced with this but it seems like I may have a Uterine Prolapse. I have been pregnant 5 times and carried 4 children to term. I go to the Doctor tomm to verify this and see what my treatment options are. It really dont matter though because I have no insurance and no money for surgery. I can feel and see it at the lady partsl opening but dont know if it is the bladder or cervix. I know this, it is completly blocking the opening and enlongates by the minute. Maybe it will just fall out on the floor and i wont have to worry about it unless its my bladder then I will put it in a bladder bag and keep on going...:rotfl: :rotfl: Gotta have some humor. I was reading that it takes 4-6 weeks to recover from surgery. Now, how am I going to feed my kids and keep the lights on if I dont work. This is just one big mess for me. I dont have the finances to get the surgery and then cant go around for the next 40 years with a pessary or a bladder bag...Any comments are appreciated

Um, freakyaye, maybe you should consider a little more whether you would be suited for nursing. Uterine prolapse is a pretty common thing in women, I'm sure you'll have to be exposed to that and much more in your career. Also, I think that's kind of offensive to reply to a post that is obviously looking for some advice on a serious matter by acting that way.

oh my god, im a 20 yr old male considering nursing and that is the single most troubling thing i have every heard.dude could you please put like warnings around your posts or something? i wasnt even expecting anything like that when i clicked!

That is nothing!:rotfl: There are WAY more "troubling" things you will see. I won't describe some of the things I have seen, because I am not able to post a warning from here! :rotfl:

Warnings around what...my post. There is nothing off about my post it happens everyday to women and if you are considering nursing you should get used to stuff like this. There is many more post located on this site that are much...MUCH more troubling than mine. Look up the thread I think it is "What grosses you out as a nurse" ...:rotfl: :rotfl: Some of that made me want to puke and I have seen it all..... Good luck in your prospective nursing career...

You go girls and boys!!! Gotta love nursing. I got a good story about a HUGE rectal prolapse!!

Anyway, back to the subject at hand...

I cannot believe that there would not be any financial support for people needing surgery. I'm in Canada, so different system, but nonetheless, it really bugs me that you would have to fork out big bucks for surgery and then still have to find the cash to support yourself while while recovering. Women here have a minimun 6 months off after having a baby, at almost full salary. You can take another 6 months at 60% of your pay, and some employers will pay the difference. Same kind of system is available for sick time as well.

OP- I wish you all the best and a winning lottery ticket!!!

Oh yeah, I'm 42 and I can feel my "bottom" changing, uhhhh growing a little top heavy. I see the big U.P.:chuckle in my near future too.

I took care of the greatest lady in a nursing home whose uterus was always coming out, her rectum too. She was unbelievable, she could often "pop" it back in herself and be fine for the day. But sometimes I'd go into her room and she'd say "oh honey, can you put my uterus back in?"--just like she was asking for a kleenex!

Being a woman ROCKS??!!!! Hang in there!

Uterine prolapses...does every woman eventually end up with this problem? Does it only occur in women who have lady partslly birthed a baby? Just wondering. I never really gave much thought to this!

Oh, come ON! If THIS is the most troubling thing you've ever heard, you're doing better than MOST people.

BTW, this IS something nurses deal with, either personally or with patients.

I have an aunt who had prolapse and never had children.

I think it's a luck of the draw who has it and who doesn't.

To the OP, i'd also ask about the pessary, too.

Well here is the offical word... I need a bladder suspension. She told me I could wear a pessary but it is only a temp fix. So I am in the process of looking for a gyn doc. If I can make it to income tax time Ill use that money if I cant find any other resource. I should be in full depends by then....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks all for your input...
