    Dear MomNRN,

My very first primary patient in the NICU (17 years ago) was a little girl named Kendall. She was, without a doubt, one of the most gorgeous preemies I've ever seen. Despite being premature, she was plump with fat, round, rosy cheeks. I don't suppose she's yours, but you've brought back a very pleasant memory. I often wonder what has become of my special patients.

I grew up with a playmate whose Mom wanted to name her "Princess." The Dad's family revolted, demanding that she choose some other name. So, without further restrictions imposed, she happily chose a name that should bring to mind a similar picture. The girl's name was "Queenette."

My daughter is only 8-years-old, but she is pretty enough to have been your patient!

I almost forgot! My grandmother-in-law is Pearl, she has sisters named: Ruby, Goldie, and Opal. What if her parents would have had a boy? Silver? Ha Ha...but it does make you wonder
PS- I think Kendall is neat!
When I have children I won't be very adventurous- we will call our daughter Anna Marie (don't have a boys name in mind--guess it runs in the family)

I was almost named Silver!! My mother wanted to name me Silver Shannon, but my dad and all of my mom's family freaked out, so I ended up being Sheena. My dad named me after Sheena Easton, and after I am married, I will be Sheena Ysen (Pronounced Eason). I think that is weird!

Not a name I've encountered, but my good nurse buddy is married to a cop and part time parole officer. He had a "client" named "Strawberrious" (male)

I went to school with twin boys...Steven & Stephan
    (Stephan pronounced "Steffan")

One of my best friends has a grandmother named Jewel.

But in my family...we all have 'normal' names. Just some wierd nicknames...I've got a Great-Aunt "Tootie", an Great-Uncle "Beans" (he's married to "Tootie") and I had a Great-Aunt "Skip" (who was "Tootie"s sister).
