Love My New Job

  1. I FINALLY AM AT THE CITY HOSPITAL. NOT THE BEST AREA BUT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.

THE PATIENT POP IS PRIMARLY HISPANIC SO I AM ADJUSTING TO A NEW LANGUAGE...NO PROBLEM I HAVE THE BASICS AND I MAKE MY PATIENTS LAUGH AT MY MUY MAL ESPANOL.

SPENT A FEW DAYS IN NST ROOM AND WAS PUT TO WORK IMMEDIATELY...THANK GOD I ACCTUALLY LIKE TO WORK AND LEARN.

PAST TWO DAYS HAVE BEEN ON L/D...I LOVE IT. WOW/ HOW INCREADABLY SCARY!!! EXPERIENCE RN WAS PRECEPTING ME AND MADE ME DO EVERY THING. SHE WAS VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD, ENCOURAGING AND LET ME WORK THE PROBLEMS OUT. WAS THERE FOR MY DECELS BUT DIDN'T SAY A WORD JUST OFFERED HELP AND ASKED ME WHAT MY POC WAS, CORRECTING ME AND GIVING ADVICE HERE AND THERE. VERY RESPECTFUL TO ME INFRONT OF THE PT. DID A DILVERY TOO. OF COURSE THE PT WAS HIGH RISK D/T OLIGO PT DID AWSOME, PUSHED OUT A 7LB KID DIRECT OP WITH VACCUM ASSIST AND EPID. WOW

TODAY HAD TWO PT. ONE ENDED UP A SECTION, CIRCULTED, HAD A DIFF. PRECEPTOR WHO WAS AWSOME, SHE MADE ME DO ALL OF THE HANDS ON AND SHOWED ME THE PAPER WORK WILL DO ALL NEXT TIME AROUND. OTHER PT WAS INSULIN GDM, ON PIT. SHE WAS AWSOME, CORRECTING MY MISTAKES AS WE WENT GIVING ME ADVICE AND MADE ME FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE CARE I WAS GIVING.

WHAT CAN I SAY I LOVE IT I LOVE THE STRESS AND FINDING OUT THAT I DID IT MOSTLY OK ON MY OWN, OF COURSE WITH AWSOME BACK UP. THESE TWO WOULD BE OUT AT THE DESK READY TO HELP WHEN I CALLED FOR IT, BUT REALLY DIDN'T TRY AND BABY ME IN. THEY SEEM TO WANT ME TO LEARN IT NOW AND RIGHT.

SO THIS GIRL IS LOVING HER NEW JOB AND WANTED TO SHARE, CUZ I HAD BEEN SO STRESSED AND SO DEPRESSED AT THAT OTHER PLACE AND EVEN THOUGH THIS PLACE DOESN'T HAVE INCREADABLE STAFFING, SUPPLIES OR EQUIPMENT, IT IS JUST WHAT I WANTED.

MY ONLY QUESTION IS HOW THE HELL DO YOU ALL KEEP UP ON CHARTING?!?!

Two of the most important phrases in Spanish are, "Donde se siente el dolor?" (where is the pain), and "Hable mas despacio, por favor" (please speak SLOOOWLY!).

Glad to hear you're enjoying your job....nice contrast to the complaining we so often do around here.

Hablo espanol aqui. (I speak Spanish here)---fluently. If you ever need help, let me know. There are some great books/tapes also, specially designed for learning Spanish for medical professions. I can recommend several.

Glad to hear you like your work. I hope you continue to take satisfaction in it! Good luck.
