Sorry to hear that. I hope w/ this door closed a window will open up to you. Sometimes that is just how it goes. I was bummed because I did not get an L/D job about 12 years ago because I just had M/B and M/S experience. About a year later I got a job doing LDRP where I could use my M/B skills and learn some new ones too. You are brave to apply for a management job. I think management is a rough road these days. I do not know where we get some of the managers I have seen. I don't think they(upper management) pick what the staff would consider to be the best candidates many times. Hopefully, something you are well-suited for will come up in the near future. Best of luck to you!

Keep your chin up. Maybe they do agree that you're "one of the best candidates." Perhaps they just don't think you're the best.

Often times the difference between the winner and the runner-up is more a matter of rapport, style, communication, and marketing than anything else.

Take a look at who's ultimately given the position and try to learn what you can do to make yourself more marketable next time.

I was taking prereqs for 2 years (because I have a 1,10 year old at home) for Graduate Entry Programme, had all A-s, high GRE & was not accepted to any schools. Found out this week & I am still alive

Mugwump ,don't worry, you will get what you want, it is just a matter of time. I am sure, you deserve it, maybe it is not the right job for you right now. Everything is done for the best, you might not be realizing it now, but later will.
