Finally landed an interview!!!

Specialties Ob/Gyn

I am sooooo excited (and equally nervous lol) that I have finally landed an interview on the Postpartum/Mother-Baby unit I originally applied for 5 months ago. The position had been filled, but another opened up so I applied for it this past Friday and got a call this morning from the unit director asking me to come in Wednesday! :yeah:

I am unsure what type of interview it will be (behavioral, group, etc.), so that adds to my anxiety a bit... My last interview at this facility was just me and the director (very laid back), but that was a few years ago. I have my fingers crossed that it is the same way now.

Just thought I would let everyone know and ask for any pointers anyone might have... i.e. questions I may be asked, questions I should ask, any sort of advice that would help me prepare would be highly appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

The interview went great this morning! I was basically told the job is mine, I just have to wait for HR to do their thing... I am SOOO excited!! :D

CONGRATS!!! :yeah:

This is wonderful news! I hope we were able to give you the answers you needed to help you prepare for the interview! Glad to hear it went well and enjoy your new job!

Absolutely!! I am sooo thankful to you all. I went over and over the info you guys gave me, to the point where I was hardly even nervous when I arrived for the interview (and if you knew me IRL, you'd know that's an amazing feat! LOL I'm like the queen of nerves! :D ).

I think I was very lucky, too, b/c my interviewer was very laid back and we sort of just chit-chatted, which made me so much more comfortable...

Thanks again everyone!

This is the way an interview SHOULD be IMHO. It should never be an interrogation of you by them. In reality you're both trying to see if it's a good fit so it should be a nice coversation back and forth, you answering questions for them and them addressing your concerns. These types of interviews almost always signal good news! It's the interrogations that usually lead to disappointment.

Glad you got the job you wanted! OB is a great place to be. :yeah:
