Cheat sheets

I am a VERY rusty LDR nurse just returning back to practice after taking several years off to do the "stay at home" mommy gig... does anyone have any cheat sheets for report and/ or discharge teaching?? I made cheat sheets years ago, they were soooo helpful but I can not find it anywhere so I am turning to some some fellow OB nurses for help.......

most units have report sheets and preprinted discharge instructions these days.

The college bookstores have some great little L&D guidebooks/"cheaters" that many nursing students purchase. Perhaps something like this would be a good quick review for you. Also, check with nearby hospitals for their next fetal monitoring courses.... nomenclature has changed alot recently!!

I have one I can send you. It's actually an excel spreadsheet, tailored to fit onto 4x6 index cards. I just print off a stack every month or so. I adjusted it from the one I used when I worked step-down, so I can still use it for our PICU moms on mag, cardiac monitoring or whatnot. I've also got a less detailed triage one, same deal, prints off onto index cards. PM me your email and I'll send them to you in the next couple days

Hopefully most hospitals will help you with some review classes, precepting etc. and most of the DC/report teaching sheets are all printed out soooo nice. If you are doing L&D though I would definitely recommend a review fetal monitoring course, because the nomenclature has changed a LOT! However, those classes may also be offered FREE through hospital.

Here are two that I have; the first one is the one that most of us use on L&D, the second is just an extra I have on file that has a postpartum side. We actually use a different one that I don't have on file.

They are Word documents, so you can alter them to suit your needs. Under 'provider' and 'pediatrician', my real one has abbreviations for our providers so we can just circle the answer.
