I just made my first year as RN in a medical oncology unit and recently put in for a transfer to either antepartum or mother-baby care. To my surprise, I got called to interview for both units! This is very exciting, but I need some help moving forward. I might want to eventually move into L&D, so the antepartum would probably be better (or so I've heard), but it's a day shift position and I can't afford to lose the differential. I could be happy in Mother Baby, but am not sure if that would make me a less desirable candidate if L&D positions should open up. Any advice or suggestions? What questions should I ask on the interview to help me decide? Thanks for any and all replies!
