Car seat testing

I haven't seen much recent discussion on car seat testing for "at risk" babies. Does your policy state anything related to when the infant should be fed prior to doing the car seat challenge? Our policy states to feed, wait one hour, then start the test. I can not find any information to support this part of our P&P. Are most hospitals following the AAP recommendations? Are you using the car bed for babies that fail? Thanks in advance!

Default Re: Car seat testing
Sorry to smile, but I am glad we are not the only ones with car seat issues. We have articles for and against car beds for under 5lbs. Some peds want an automatic car bed, while others want a car seat test. The other argument is not even r/t apnea, but can a car seat rated for over 5lbs, really protect a baby if involved in an accident and then who is liable?
