    According to ACOG (via Lowdermilk & Perry OB text): Elevations over prepregnancy values are no longer considered diagnotic for preeclampsia. Women who present with a 30mmHg increase in systolic or 15mmHg diastolic will require closer observation if this occurs along with proteinuria and hyperuricemia (6mg/dL or more).

    Preeclampsia can not be diagnosed by elevated BP alone. Protienuria must also be present.
