What The ?#$%.. Re: Pace University BSN/MA- Westchester, Spring 2010
I think most of my medical forms are done, I was accepted last semester into what I THOUGHT was a 2 year program, but it turned out to be a 3 year one (which was silly considering I could wait a semester, take the missing prereqs and do it in 1) -- but I got most of my forms in then, so hopefully there's not too much other stuff that they need.

Seems like a lot of people are commuting from distances...don't know why the school is so adamantly against it...hopefully all the information will come in the mail soon -- from what I've been reading, it seems like they do the class registration FOR us, so that's one thing we don't need to worry about (I guess we all take the same courses?)

Anyone know how many people are in the program? And are clinics on campus, or do we actually get to go to a hospital (and if so, do they transport us back and forth or is that our responsibility?)

Student 002 do you know how to private message? I got a response from Pace but I got thinking perhaps the admissions committee sees this stuff so I don't wanna post it on the site. If you know how to, can you let me know, and I'll tell you what happened. Thanks

Hi guys,
I recently got my acceptance letter. While i'm ecstatic about the acceptance i'm a bit thrown of course since it's for the 2 yr program an not the one yr accelerated. Veggiebeast I see you were in a similar situation before. Can you PM me so i can ask you some questions about it? Does anyone know how deferment works? or any information on class schedules?

Thanks so much!

They may have you in the two year program because they think you don't have the pre-reqs completed. Are you taking a class now? If so, at the end of the semester, they will switch you to the 1 year.

I can tell you that the reason is probably that you don't have all the prereq's completed or most likely that they did not like the grades you got in them.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I realize the reason WHY i was placed into the two yr program. But my questions had to do with whether they offer program deferrment, conditional acceptances and such. Also, what the actual class schedule is like as I may have to possibly schedule around work.

I don't have the paperwork with me but as I remember lecture for the SPRING SEMESTER was Wed & Thurs clinicals vary depending on availability throughout the rest of the week. It will be very difficult to work as clinical hours change every time the clinical changes, which I think is every 8 weeks. I don't know if the lecture days will change for the Summer or Fall Semesters.

I got into the one-year program, but I had to drop microbiology, so I am going to apply again for the fall semester. They offered me the two-year program, but that was ultimately too expensive.

Their deadline for people submitting a non-refundable deposit was November 18, so they must now know how many people accepted. So I imagine that they will be contacting some people on the "waiting list."

Good luck, and if you don't get in, try somewhere else! Don't give up!

Mark --why was the two-year program too expensive? From what I could tell the educational piece is the same expense either way. The lost income in not being done for another year is a factor for me. I have three kids in college and have to start making money again fast. Was that what you meant?
