Cochran School of Nursing

I am a recent grad of CSN. It's a great school & it's extremely challenging. But the administration really works with you to suceed.I was in their fast track prgoram so I finsihed the program in a year & a half. It was extremely hard but well worth it.

I had the priviledge of Graduating with WSmith, I was trying to get into LIU, Aldelphi, and Molloy. However I didn't do well in Statistics and I couldn't get in. So I settle for CSN. That was a BLESSING in diguise. It was cheaper, I got done in 16 months, and they work with me. I even recieve Virtual ATI program free to help me pass the NCLEX. I recommend the school.

It is a good school...i had about three students in my micro class that were waiting for acceptance letters and were frusted because the school was taking too long to send out the letters..and b/c of it many opted for dorothy...then again with such a great influx of students applying its only logical for the school to delay but they should develop a better system...my SIL graduated from there about 5 years ago...i endured cochran through HER experience!..lol...but she did it...all i know is that just as any other nursing program STAY ON TOP of your school work/reading!...also if you remain at a B average your first two semesters you can attend their summer session and finish in a year and a half...i know of this b/c my husband applied there and this is what they told him...in my opinion i think its a great option...of course its up to ya!..whatever your decision...good luck...

pardon me , my name is Keith and i have recently been accepted to cochran school and i am looking for advice on my first semester for nursing basics and math dosage classes. I would like to know what is the key to graduating from this institution and passing the nclex exam. any advice will be greatly appreciated. and last year i spoke to Wsmith but i was to busy to reply back to him but i would love to speak to him right now to get any recommendations. thank ytou and have a great evening

The key to graduateing is to study, study, study. Basic course is a good course the teachers are great in that class --you will have a firm grip of the fundamentals when done. The math class can be the kicker depending how you are in math. I sucked in math & ended up getting a 100 on the final. The key is to do the worksheet that they give to you in class & do the pages in the workbook & you will be all set. You have to do teh work yourself in math to pass. Which group are you in Day, evening, o saturday?

First WSmith, I apologize for not replying to u last year. But I have the day schedule. I Begin this coming fall semester and i am quite nervous. I already have the ISBN#s for the book i need in hopes of buying the books this summer and getting a head start on the classes. I'll appreciate anymore advice i can get coming from u being a male nurse and havin already completed the COChran curriculum. I have completed all mu co-req except for developmental psych which i am taking a either hunter or bmcc this summer. I wish to apply 4 the fast track program because my girlfriend is expecting and i dont want her to wait 2 long b4 i complete my degree. what did u fond the most difficult during your first and second semester, what do u recommend i do for classes and clinical, and what are easy to commit but dire mustake i should avoid.

I just took my entrance exam for Cochran...... I'm really nervous :/ I just graduated from LPN school three weeks ago and I am also interested in the fast track program.

Hey everyone I am curious to know... I have not yet gotten call for csn,however, I notified the school and was advised that I should be notified by the end of June. Is it possible that they are still accepting students for the evening program?

I start classes in Spring. Can anyone tell me what books I should start reading from now? I would like to have a head start.
