Hello all,

I have a few questions for those of you have been accepted in Cochran. How hard was it for you to get in? What was your teas score, gpa, prereq gpa? And when did you apply and how long did it take to get your acceptance letter?

Thanks

I believe it was different for everyone who got accepted, however, My GPA was a 3.4 and I had all my prereq except for nutrition which I am currently taking. I took the teas as soon as I applied to the school and got a call for an interview a week later. However, it took about 3 month for them to let me know that I was accepted. My friend just took the teas and was called back to retake the reading part. She scored an 80 on the 1st exam. I don't know the grade that is required for that school but I guess it all depends on the area they consider important. the teas consist of reading, language, math and science. My friend asked what grade was required on the test and the school just told her to score really high.

Crystal, in one of the other threads I read that you have a bs in accounting. I also have a bs in accounting and am looking to get out of this boring field lol. My gpa is just under a 3.0 . I plan on getting A's in all my pre reqs and hopefully they will look at the gpa for those classes. What was your teas score if you don't mind me asking? And what kind of questions did they ask for the interview?

They only look at the pre reqs for GPA average. So you still have a chance of getting in. Have you taken some of your pre-reqs? You 1st need to take A&P1 and 2 before you can apply to the school. I also recommand that you take Mirco before getting in. That class is extremely hard. However, there are some people that take it while they are attending clinicals. As for the Teas, there are different scores for different section on the Teas. They stated that reading and math was very important. I also remember that I scored above a 90% in those areas, however, I don't remember my over all individual score. Sorry, I took this exam back in Feb. The interview was quick and they ask the general questions. why you want to go to there school? Why you want to get into nursing? What are your weak and strong points? I don't remember what else they asked.

I just had my interview and i would like to know how long it takes to get an acceptance letter.
I worry about it because my interview took about 10minutes. That's it mean that i won;t be accepted?
the interviewer told me that my grades are great and ask me how do i arrange mysel to get those grades.
i do not know what to do ? i think i did well but i do not know what she will say. please let me know what do you think .

You just have to study. Get a review book like Saunders to help you master key concepts.

Every semester is a challenege. It's even tougher the last yr because you are then taking two classes & each class has its own requirements. But it's worth it if this is truly what you want to do.

I am not sure. It took about 3 month for them to let me know I was accepted. Everyone is different. Try not to worry.
