Overseas registration and shift patterns in the UK

Hello everyone

After living in London for one year, I've decided to move to the UK to work as a nurse.

I'm currently in Brazil and through the registration process.

Can someone please give me some information on the following questions?

- I got my nursing degree in 1996 and have been working as a "nurse with midwifery skills" from 1998 to 2010. In the last 5 years I have been working as a lecturer, providing hands-on clinical training for midwifery students, carrying out research, classes, etc.

I wonder if this would be considered as nursing experience by the NMC? If not, can I have some additional training (return to practice) when arriving in the UK?

- NHS websites state that the workload for nurses is 37.5 hours per week (3 shifts). I wonder how many night shifts are we expected to do weekly?

There are plenty of threads in the Nurse Registration forum discussing NMC. Shifts are not always 12 hours, your posts quotes 37.5 (3shifts) can also be 5 shifts of 7.5. Not everyone does 12 hour shifts. Each trust will be different, some may have regular night shift workers or you may do your nights in one week. I used to work 7 nights and get the following week off as the one week of nights I did 75 hours
