The atmosphere is pretty sad here I live 70 miles from London all the staff at work have relatives or know somebody who travels there to work on a daily basis. Everybody was frantic phoning them but of course the phone networks went down under the sheer voulme of people trying to contact their love ones. Took 3 hours for some to get news. The patients were all cying.

Just as an aside, the area which took the main force is right by the Pearson test centre where NCLEX is done. Please God none of our friends & colleagues were heading that way today.

I hope everyone is safe. London is a strong city and it will overcome this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was affected by the blasts.

Amen..

You were our best allies during 9/11 and we are so sorry those idiots disrupted your city. I'm travelling there in a few weeks from AZ and won't let this stand in my way one bit! Hope you and yours are well and safe.

My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to all of you that have lost loved ones.

I woke up and was getting ready to go in for my shift and for some reason I felt I had to turn on the TV and saw that CNN was airing a live broadcast from the London bureau. I am repulsed by the utter disregard for humanity but I am also amazed at the response from the British people to this tragic act. 700 wounded triaged, transported and treated in London yesterday, a great feat for any public health system. My prayers are with the victims and their families.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the people in the UK. It is too reminescent of the 9/11 attacks in NY. I wish that we could all accept each other as human beings and stop the rhetoric, violence, and mayhem. To all the nurses in the UK, may you be blessed with the healing touch and courage to carry on. Tonight I phoned home to the UK and spoke to some colleagues and friends who were in the middle of the blast zones and found themselves recieving numerous traumas (despite being in a paediatric hospital). I was glad to hear that all of my friends were safe (my sincere sympathies and best wishes to those who were not so lucky). One thing that everyone has reported back is that the medical and nursing staff throughout London did a fantastic job, setting up field triage and treatment centres and dealing with 700+ casualties amid the fear and confusion that descended upon the city.

I would like to voice the pride I feel in my colleagues, my thoughts are with all of London. I have never been more proud to be a British nurse.

its tragic and peoples lives have been lost. This should not be happening. i have a good friend who was there at the time and we(family /friends) have not heard from her and cant contact her. We cant seem to find out anything about her. We do fear the worst. Innocent people who have done nothing......why? My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved and their family and friends.

My thoughts go out to the people of England, and London. It seem to be another sad day for inocent people everywhere, New York, Bali, Madrid, and now London. Bless the Emergency workers, Nurses, and Doctors who were on the news footage pouring out of the near by hospitals still in scrubs to do what they could, British determination. I will light a candle tonight in prayer.

Thinking of all our English friend's at this dreadful time. Thinking also of the tourists and others living and working in London, from other countries. Thinking of their family and friend's.

Several Australian's have been caught up in this dreadful slaughter, many feared dead. It's like Bali, all over again. :crying2:
