Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows about including foreign nursing experience in your banding level. I.e. if I have been a nurse for 7 years in Canada, do I have to start at the bottom of band 5 here?ThanksJ

Up to the employer whether previous experience counts
  5. Hello Nurserandy. The banding depends on what trust you apply to, in my trust Newcastle hospitals, you would start on lower band 5, £21,176pa, as you a a new entrant to the NHS, but if you go to a trust that needs staff, i.e. London or south east England, you might get put on mid point band 5, £25,525pa with London weighting, (extra money for working in London about £2000 pa), and in some trusts they can provide accommodation for price.
