Band 6 interview/presentation

Hi all,

I've browsed this site for a while now and found it really useful but I've only just become a member and was hoping someone might be able to help me.

I'm currently a Staff Nurse (Mental Health) and I have just been offered an interview for the Charge Nurse position on my home ward. It is a Low Secure Unit.

I unfortunately had an unsuccessful interview for this same position 3-4 months ago, but this time I have been asked to prepare a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation which I didn't have to do before. Naturally I am feeling quite anxious over it. The title of the presentation is as follows:

"what are the three main challenges that you feel you will face in the role of the Charge Nurse within your first 6 months of employment?"

I have an idea of where to start. I'm thinking along the lines of implementing change (which is due to happen soon) and the resistance I may get from staff. This can then expand to include issues related to leadership skills.

Other than this I am completely stuck. They haven't given any other type of information. Do they want it to be more of an academic kind of presentation, with research and references to back up your statements? Or are they just preferring you to answer as you would do if it was fired at you as a standard interview question?

If anyone could help in identifying two other challenges or help in any other way I would be eternally grateful.

Thank you.
