Approx timelines from UK to the US

World UK

Published

Trying hard to work out a timeline so I can work out a realistic time for selling our house (don't want to sell too early as have 3 dogs and trouble finding renting willing to take dogs) plus giving notice at work as I have to give 3 months.

I know will only be approx but if RN's from the UK who have already arrived in the US put down their timescale plus the ones already in the process still in the UK would be a big help and may also help those beginning their process

I signed with OGP in early october 2002. took the n-clex the first week of june 2003 in savannah, got the phase 3 packet in january 2004, interviewed in london at the embassy in june 2004 and left the uk on july 1st 2004.

I phoned the NVC, they replied that our case was closed yesterday. I've waited after my atty. has submitted my DS230 last 24th July. I don't know if I will be affected by the "retrogression". Some are saying, those case closed files submitted to London will get interview schedules by next year. Hope this is not true. Is there anybody here with the same boat?

Interviews in the UK are usually less than four weeks, not next year.

They received DS230 July 24

My case was completed Aug 16.

They said on the message we would hear within 8 weeks.

Who are the 'some' you are referring to?

Is it anyone with fact about what's happening or is it rumour?

Scaremongering isn't good for my mental health at present.

what scare mongering???? this is just information which is being passed on, no one forces anyone to read this forum or act on its advice or information, which is kindly given by people going through or have experianced the process, its up to the individual to make up their own mind!

many on here have recieved letters from their immigration lawyers or agencies saying that the retrogression may be a real threat to all international nurses trying to go to the usa.

In my agency there are two letters which have been distributed, the one i got said that i would probably not be affected as my immigration is far enough advanced not to get caught up in possible retrogression, the other letter which has been recieved by people who are still having the ds230 processed says they may not get their cases completed in time to avoid a possible delay.

there is a possible chance that this may come to nothing, but i think its a good idea to be forwarned of such things as many of us have house sales etc to deal with.
