Are You Allow To Review Your Dosage Calculations

  1. 0
I was just wondering if other schools allow their nursing student to review their dosage calculations after its graded. I'm in my 4th semester in a BSN program and my Pediatric instructor does not allow us to review our dosage calculation test. I'm really frustrated right now because I was supposed to graduate this May but I withdrew last semester because of dosage and I'm retaking it now but it does not even looks like I'll make it in Dec either because of the same dosage. I don't know what I'm doing wrong since we are not allow to review our dosage. Any input is greatly appreciate it!

We get to see everything after it's graded. How are you supposed to know what you're doing wrong if you can't see your work?

RunnerRN2b2014, this particular teacher does not allow students to review any exam or dosage calculation test that she gives and I'm very frustrated because I don't know which questions am missing. I've been asking myself could it the same questions that I'm missing? and the answer is I don't know. I need to start looking for some schools to transfer to because I cannot afford to retake Peds for the third time all because of dosage calculation, anyways thank you.

Yes our instructors let us review all our tests including dosage calculation after it was graded, especially if we did not do good, so we know where we went wrong. Is there a nursing program director that you can discuss this with?

Have you gotten a dosage calc book or gone to a website to find out which formats you have a problem with?

Take some practice tests and see which ones you get right and which ones you get wrong.

That's crazy. We have an immediate test review after every exam (we leave the exam room and then go down the hallway to another classroom where all of the questions, answers, and rationales are available to review, so we can figure out our grade immediately) and then a few days after the exam the instructors offer a test review where you can ask questions and review the exam in detail.

We are expected to teach ourselves the dosage calculations but an instructor is available if we need help. Do you do all of the practice questions in your dosage calculations book?

Have you spoken to the instructor and ask her what you are doing wrong? If you have and you still have no satisfaction....I would make an appointment with the program director and tell her about your frustration.

In your practice sessions what mistakes are you making? What method do you use? Check out this site......DosageHelp.com - Helping Nursing Students Learn Dosage Calculations
