this site is FABULOUS and FREE! it has most any procedure u can think of, just be careful if your school teaches some things a different way, for example they teach IM injections by a different method than we used.

Thet cotc.edu link wasn't coming up for me... don't know if it was doing it to anyone else or not.. don't know if maybe it will work this way:Nursing videos

    CD-ROM videos you can buy:
Prentice Hall Real Nursing Skills: Intermediate & Advanced Nursing Skills
I have this one, it has: elimination management (includes catheters, NG tubes for decompression, peritoneal dialysis, gastric lavage, etc.), drug management (shots and other drug admin), tissue perfusion mgmt (venipuncture, IVs), nutrition support (NG tubes, enteral feedings, g tube, etc.), respiratory mgmt (O2, trach care, suctioning, chest tubes, etc.). There's like 60 or 70 procedures in all.

Prentice Hall Real Nursing Skills: Basic Nursing Skills
"Covers risk management, activity and exercise, self-care facilitation, immobility management, and skin and wound management."

Thank you very much for all your help! I'll try the websites. By the way, I heard that there's a clinical skills book by Potter & Perry and I heard good stuff about it. Does anybody know if it comes in video? What about Clinical skills by Mosby? The book we'll be using is Medical-Surgical Nursing by Lewis & Dirksen. I tried to search information re: clinical skills but I forgot where I found it. I think it was under Evolve or Elsevier?...

Our school uses Clinical Nursing Skills & Techniques (5th ed) by Perry & Potter & it is great. I don't know about the video, but the isbn # is 0-323-01406-2

Thank you for the info! I'll make sure to look in on that. I also noticed that at my clinical, the hospital staff were using Potter and Perry as well. So I think that means that it IS a great book afterall .

Thank you for the information on the skills video. I'll make sure to check with Amazon regarding those CDs. As a matter of fact, I just ordered books from Amazon and I'm surprised that they arrived on time. I wished that I would've done that for my first semester when instead, I purchased my books through half.com and didn't get my Nanda until school was almost over.
