practice questions

Hi all :)

I'm happy to be part of such a helpful and caring site! I am looking for test practice questions, because I need to improve my test taking skills. (doesn't everyone?!)

Anyone know of a resource where people might make questions up and test each other? Please let me know if there is such a thing!

Thank you!

no, but i know of a site where you can get a nclex question of the week. every monday the ncsbn who administrates the nclex licensing exam for rns posts a question from their nclex review preparation course at this site http://www.learningext.com/students/qofweek.asp . if you check every week and copy these questions (the answers are also given along with the rationale for them) you will have quite a little library of questions to help you in studying for your rn license exam when your time to take it comes.

keep your eyes open for posts on these forums regarding sources of sample and practice nclex questions. free sources of them seem to be everywhere. some of the nursing textbooks have online companion sites to their textbooks that have nclex type questions on their websites. i have seen links to nclex practice questions on some of the state board of nursing sites. i would suggest that you download and print any questions and answers you find as websites sometimes go off line and may never get back on the internet.

Go and buy some NCLEX prep books. They are full of questions. I started using my NCLEX books in nursing school to test my knowledge before tests, and it also helped me get a feel for the type of questions that might be asked.

I used the Saunders and Lipincott books.

Good luck!

This looks like a promising site for "pooling" test questions:

Thanks Vicky :)

I'm always open for suggestions from the wonderful nurses here. I've got a big PM box with lots of space, so if anyone has suggestions, comments, or ideas, feel free to toss em my way :)

Unfortunately, this topic is pretty rife with commercial advertisements :( Having also googled quite extensively for variations of "NCLEX", all that come up are sites that promise that by using their "patented study systems" or flashcards, etc. that you'd pass. *pfft* Please... Like I don't already spend enough cash between schooling, books, scrubs, and other supplies!!

Keep the links coming :) I actually have a bookmark section JUST for the NCLEX and all of these links just got added lol :)
