- Aug 12, '12 by ChristianBransonThank you for sharing! I'm starting Pharmacology in 2 weeks, and I've no doubt that these will come in very handy throughout the semester.
- Sep 16, '12 by booncisWow, these cards look great! Thanks for taking the time to create them! I may have missed something, but I'm a bit unclear as to how these are to print out. I am downloading to a Mac Word v. 12.3.2. When I open the files, I get a msg about my version not being able to use your VBA macros. Will I miss anything by not utilizing the macros? Are these suppose to print in a particular format? Perhaps the layout you used is not transferring to a Mac... I will have my tech wise hubby take a look too.
I apologize if this issue has already been addressed - I did do a little searching around allnurses for info.
Again, thank you so much for sharing your tools and good luck on the ebooks - hope you still get to do that project!!
-booncis - Sep 16, '12 by ♪♫ in my ♥Quote from booncisThanks.Wow, these cards look great! You're welcome. I created them for my own pharm class several years ago and shared them with my classmates. One day I came across them and decided to float 'em onto the cloud and chose AN as a nod to Brian and trying to enhance the value of his site. Thanks for taking the time to create them! When I printed them, I simply loaded my printer (an Epson of some sort but don't remember the model as it's been replaced a couple of times) with blank 3x5 index cards, printed all the odd pages, reloaded them the other side out, and then printed the even pages. I remember having to futz with portrait versus landscape in order to figure out how to get them printing correctly but it didn't require any special equipment or programs.I may have missed something, but I'm a bit unclear as to how these are to print out.Sorry, I don't do Macs... I find them difficult to work with.I am downloading to a Mac Word v. 12.3.2.No, the VBA code are simple routines that I used to facilitate creation of the cards (e.g. changing line spacing, fonts, etc). They were used only for creation and editing, not for viewing or printing. When I open the files, I get a msg about my version not being able to use your VBA macros. Will I miss anything by not utilizing the macros? They print to 3x5 cards. I think I did set my printer for 3x5 cards as well as how it's set in the Word file. Are these suppose to print in a particular format?Could be, but I doubt it... Mac Word should import the Word 2003 file without difficulty. I'd guess the glitch lies with your printer settings. Like I said, I don't understand how Apple products work so I don't know how you get at the printer settings.Perhaps the layout you used is not transferring to a Mac...There you go... that's what my wife always does :-)I will have my tech wise hubby take a look too.I don't think it has... not sure if anybody's had trouble printing 'em out or not.I apologize if this issue has already been addressed - I did do a little searching around allnurses for info.I'll get there... I'm just pushed to the limit trying to get up to speed on the new job... I've got the software, I just need to spend some time learning how to use it.... it's a hobby but I've got a bunch of house projects waiting for me, too.good luck on the ebooks - hope you still get to do that project!!
I may not get to it 'til long after you're a practicing RN :-) - Sep 16, '12 by sugarbiancaQuote from booncisI have a Mac and didn't have a problem printing then on flash cards, never got the msg about the macros though, so I'm not sure about what not enabling them will do.Wow, these cards look great! Whether the warning is displayed or not probably depends on the security settings on your machine. Given that a VBA routine can do some destructive things, some Word deployments automatically disable them unless they're digitally signed (which mine aren't).
I'm glad you were able to print them without any difficulties, however. Did you need to make any settings in your printer setup or did it just read the defaults from the Word document? - Sep 16, '12 by sugarbiancaQuote from ♪♫ in my ♥Ok I think I changed my security settings so I never got the macro msg. I know what they are for I was just saying I don't know if not enabling them in this case would change anything. I didn't have to change anything as far as page and print setup just sent it to print and loaded the blank index cards.Enabling them does nothing besides provide some tools for editing.
