Pharma Question.

  1. 0 Within oncology... Prednisone and Dexamethasone are used to treat the hypercalcemia and brain metastases.

    My friend says prednisone causes HYPOGLYCEMIA but...

    I disagree.

    Prednisone is a corticosteroid...
    Meaning= fluid ret. Na+ ret. And elevated glucose level.

    How can this be possible then?

    Maybe it masks symptoms of hypoglycemia?

    I'm so lost.

    Trust me on this.....prednisone and dexamethasone cause increased blood are right your friend is wrong.
