Pathophysiology HESI

  1. 0
Anyone heard of this or take it? We are the first class ever taking this at my school. It is on Tuesday and to be honest it is the only thing I am worried about. I am usually a calm person don't let anything get to me but this has me on edge. The teachers haven't told us anything except it covers our entire textbook Patho 1 and Patho 2

Actually I don't even know if it is HESI or Evolve, or if there is a difference.

My grade isn't the greatest in this class so I need to pass it in order to pass the class.

    Anyone have any info?

I personally have not taken that subject test, but I have taken other HESI tests (Peds, maternity, Med-Surg, etc). Have you taken one of the specialty HESI tests before? It will be multiple choice on the computer, with NCLEX-style questions that relate to Pathophysiology. It'll probably cover the most commonly seen Patho topics in nursing.

Keep in mind, though, that although most of the questions will be material you've covered in class, you'll likely see some material that you're teacher might not have covered because she didn't write the exam, the HESI company did. I always make sure to tell people that so they don't get discouraged and think that 'they should have known" something or other.

And FYI, Evolve and HESI are both part of Elsevier, which is a big publishing company, so yeah they are pretty much the same thing.

I hope this helps a little at least!

Last year they experimented with giving it, so I have only taken one in Pediatrics. I passed it but it only covered one semester of information and I studied hard for it.

I don't feel as prepared for this one, I guess just see what happens then.

I've been reviewing this Patho review book I have and it has NCLEX style questions in it but I am only getting about 60% of them right...

Don't be too discouraged by that number. In my experience, students who are scoring in the 60-70% range on a regular basis for practice questions are actually in pretty good shape for these standardized tests.

When are you taking the Pathophys HESI? Let me know how it goes for you!

we have taken it, after our first half of school... it gives you an idea of where you are and how you will do on the N-CLEX . I wouldn't stress out too much about it. It will let you know how well you are retaining information.
