Pathophysiology of the Disease...I DON'T GET IT?!?!

Hi guys,

For my clinical lab we have been given a pt. profile to complete and one of the sections includes the pathophysiology of the disease. Our patient has cellulitis of the leg. Would this be the cause? We also have a section to define the disease. I know this is pretty simple, but I just can't wrap my mind around how to determine the pathophysiology. Can ANYBODY please help with this?

you have to figure out what is the cause of the cellulitis first - at that point, you can talk about pathophysiology. How did this person get a cellulitis (ex: are they diabetic and they had an infected foot, arm or something?). Think about how they got the cellulitis, then you can talk about pathophysiology (what is going on? explain the inflammatory process, prostaglandins, etc, immune response....). you could start w/ a med surg book
