LHPS training?

What does this stand for? I'm in school currently for my LPN (hoping to get accepted into the Fall 2006 program since I only have one more pre-req left. WOOHOO!), but I also work part time (every other weekend) as a CNA at an Assisted Living Facility. I got a letter today telling me that I have an LHPS training class to attend.

Does anyone know what that stands for?

Specializes in Gerontological, cardiac, med-surg, peds.

I have never heard of this term before. Could "Lay Health Promoter" possibly be the meaning???

This makes much better sense :imbar Apparently this term is used for unlicensed personnel outside of the acute care or skilled nursing care environment. Here is a simplified link to the same material (be sure to check out Section 1400 "Licensed Health Professional Support/ Training"):

Thank you! I just glanced at it, but will read through it tomorrow. I just got home from work a bit ago and am heading to bed.

I asked someone at work and they said the training class is for people that may be working in the SCU at my facility.
