Kinesthetic Sensation for Dorsal Column Tract

If a person has lost kinesthetic function due to a hemisection of the spinal cord, would that mean the person would have unsteady and difficulty walking because of not being able to locate the position of his feet so to speak? What other symptoms would manifest? I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly.
