Help! Doing drug research for next day patient care

  1. Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me figure out an easy way to research drugs for the patients I am assigned in the hospital. I just got into Medication module of my nursing program. We do our research on the patients we are assigned the day before then go home and have to look-up the drugs our patients are on list side effects, why our patient is recieving...etc. I originally was just going to look each one up in my drug book and write them out but it takes way too long. How do you cut and paste from the internet?? and what forms can you cut and paste the info into where it will fit?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Thank you!!!!

Have you tried looking at drug card in a bookstore, your school bookstore usually has them. They general have all the info you need organized neatly on the back and front of each card. I just pull mine out the day before and read them over several times for MOA ,side effects, usual adult dose, drug class, etc.

The Davis' guide comes with a CD that will run the quick look up, it saves alot of time for me, especially with some of the patients that are upwards of 20+ medications over the course of a day, if you are using a nursing drug guide that came with a CD try it out, might be something like that on there

Yup that's what I do. If you don't have a CD you can google Davis Drug Guide and it will take you to their site and you can pull up the drug info from there.
