Hi all,

I am a first semester nursing student and just hade my first exam, I only managed to get a 76. I have been using the fundamentals of success book by barbara vitale. Can anyone reccommend websites with fundamentals NCLEX style questions?

Many thnaks for your help.

Hi

I'm in your same boat. Don't feel bad and don't give up. And I thought A & P was hard. :uhoh21: It is difficult because we are in the learning phase of how to think like a nurse. I went out and bought 2 books that may help you. Try the Fundamentals of Nursing made Incredibly Easy and the Health Asessment Made Incredibly Visual. I love these books! They have become my bible more so than the Potter and Perry Textbook we are using. Both break the information down clearly as well as visually. I hope this helps.

I took my test last Tuesday and I am still waiting for my result. There are always two good answers and you have to answer the best of the two. My friend is using the book you mentioned. I was thinking about getting one, but I will wait for my result tonight and see if I will need it. I have Kaplan, which is more application questions. I use it once in a while.

very hard to find free nclex style questions on the internet that people will just share openly. i recommend that you start saving for a nclex review book and plan on buying one in the future. do a search of the forums because there have been lots of threads discussing which books are the best.

check to see if your nursing textbook(s) have any companion websites. most of the nursing companion websites have free nclex style questions on them by chapter of the book. the problem is that the general public usually can't get into these sites. you have to have a specified pin number or a specified logon/password to get into these sites. your instructor or manager of the bookstore should have this information. demand it of them because access to these websites is part of the service you get when you buy the publisher's textbook.

these are a few of the links i have to whatever free nclex questions are out there on the internet. another source you can try is to check the home page of your state board of nursing (or other states if you have time and are motivated to look). you can link to the ny board of nursing from allnurses by running your curser over the "links" button at the top right of this page. some state boards have some nclex preparation help posted on their sites.

http://www.learningext.com/students/qofweek.asp - question of the week. every monday a question from the online nclex-rn examination course from ncsbn and it's answer is posted here on this page. this is from the company that writes the nclex.

https://allnurses.com/forums/f205/nclex-test-review-websites-test-taking-tips-86651.html - an extensive and exhaustive listing of free web nclex questions

http://www.nclexinfo.com/ - lots of information about nclex including practice questions and flashcards plus some subject area reviews. warning, however. . .it is ultimately trying to sell nclex preparation materials.

http://www.abetterstudyguide.com/ - this looks like a promising site for "pooling" test questions. it is a self-help site.

I used Mosbys and Delmar (SNA) NCLEX review books to study from all through school. Then when I hit OB and PEDS I bought the mustard book to help me study from. Good luck to you!!!
