Follow-up for interview??

Hello- looking for advice.

I recently e-mailed the nurse recruiter at a hospital to find out information about their new grad program. She responded by telling me to fill out an on-line application and told me that interviews would begin in March.

So I filled out the application, but I have not submitted a resume or cover letter, because it was not included anywhere in the application.

I would normally follow-up on an application, especially because my resume has not been submitted yet, but should I wait until March, since she specifically told me interviews wouldn't start until then? I've already had to e-mail her twice and I don't want to be a pest, but I want to make sure they know I am very interested in this job.

**Also - I am from NH and this job is in CA, so it would be a phone interview, if that makes any difference....

I'm surprised the online application didn't include a way to attach a resume.

I would mail a follow-up letter with your resume attached to it to the nurse recruiter. In your letter, just let them know that you filled out an online application, this letter is to confirm that you did this, and that your resume is attached since there was no way to attach it to the online application. Remind them that you called earlier and were told interviews would be in March. I would also explain in your letter that you are planning to move to California and the approximate date. This will let them know that you are a serious candidate for a job. Also, inform them that you will be calling at the very end of February to find out about their interview schedule.

At the end of this month I would call this nurse recruiter and tell her you are just calling to let her know that you are still interested in being considered for a new grad position and you were wondering if an interview schedule had been set up yet. I think if you vary the ways you are getting in contact with them they will not see that as being too overly pestering. They are more likely to remember you, especially since you are from out of state. The next time you do an online application, read them over very carefully. Also, many sites give you a confirmation number when you send off the resume that you should copy down for your records and mention it in any future contact with the facility.

Why don't you plan a trip to California. Have several interviews set up and bring resumes with you. While here put in several applications. They really are going to want to interview a new grad in person.
