Falls Guidelines ..Help What to do?

by Toshiba

Hey guys

I was just wondering if you knew what the procedure is when a patient has a fall in a hospital e.g falling from their bed on to the floor.

Are their specific guidelines on what to do in this situation and the correct way of getting them off the floor?

A website would be good but any personal input would be appreciated

Thankyou

I would say the first thing is to asses the patient ( i might use maslow's concept here too with ABCs). I won't move them until I complete the assesments and make sure there is no risk involved such as spine or neck injury. In the meantime, call for help.
