TRY AHPRA

Wish I'd had a teacher/mentor like Daytonite when I was in school.

I would buy Sparks and Taylor's Nursing Diagnosis Reference Manual. I have the 8th edition and it is the only reason I have survived care plans in nursing school so far!!! It is divided by topic area (adult, adolescent, child, maternal-neonatal, geriatric, psych, community, and wellness) and has tons of care plan options within. The preface about nursing care plans is wonderful and at the end they have a list of nursing diagnosis based off the medical diagnosis to help you out.

I love love love it!! :) I tried to use freebies online for a while but nothing compares to this book, IMO.

This is fine book - using it a lot. Using software(carescribble) to build /store / edit my care plans. When working ( I am a Nurse) I turn on my laptop on to print out care plans when I need them. I have about 56 Care Plans ready for use. No paperwork :)

as a clarification, nanda 2012-14 is a terrific resource for anyone, us or canadian or anywhere else. just looking thru the table of contents in each section gives you great ideas for your patient's needs.

when you write your nursing plan of care, when you plan how nursing needs to observe, assess, and treat, you'll be glad you got these hints. remember, although rns are tasked by law to carry out some aspects of the medical plan of care, we do much more than that, based on our own scientific evidence. although physicians are not allowed to testify to nursing standards of care, nurses are responsible to recognize dangerous things in a medical plan of care and not to implement them blindly. think about that. we are more than just doing what a physician says, and we know why. nanda tells you and backs you up.

I have been to this website for help with careplans. It has a bunch.

I really need help with my nursing diagnoses here is an example of my nursing diagnoses . impaired walking related to musculoskeletal impairment as evidence by pain in both extremities of the legs. Please advise me if its correct for a nursing diagnosis

what you are saying with this diagnostic statement is that this patient has a hard time walking because there is something wrong with his musculoskeletal system (presumably in his legs), and you know this is true because he has pain in his legs. is that what you meant to say? does it fit with your assessment?
