Hi everyone,

Can someone please confirm if benign neoplasm of colon is THE SAME as colon polyps? I know benign is not malignant (duh). and neoplasm is abnormal growth. So I am pretty sure benign neoplasm of colon is NOT colon cancer. But I am not sure if benign neoplasm of colon IS colonic polyps.

All colon polyps are neoplasms. However, not all colon neoplasms are colon polyps.

Well i know if it's a malignant colon neoplasm then it's not polyps it's cancer right? My question is is BENIGN colon neoplasm the same as colon polyps?

Or are there other benign neoplasms of the colon?

No, polyps can be cancerous.

No, benign colon neoplasm does not mean it is colon polyps.

And yes, there are other benign neoplasms of the colon, lipomas for example.
