The thiopental sodium helps the patient relax completely without a care in the world, does not help alleviate pain. succinylcholine causes paralysis, usually necessary for intubation - fast acting and short lasting. Nitrous oxide provides some level of analgesia and anesthesia to make intubation less troublesome. Intubation with oxygen is necessary to maintain airway in many patients. Sevoflurane will completely anesthesize the patient and provide complete analgesia and amnesia.
