  1. What does the 2 abbreviation mean? Secondary to?

    Here is an example:
    P: Disuse Osteoporosis
    E: lack of weight bearing stress on bones 2 to prescribed traction
    S: pathological fracture left hip

    Yep, it means secondary to...

    So, the lack of weight bearing stress on the bones is secondary to (or caused by/or as a result of) the traction.

    It obviously doesn't apply in your context but in our hospital they also use it to mean hours.

    In our hospital, it's a doc's abbreviation for "Secondary to."
