I'm getting a Littmann from Progressivemed.com. If you call for pricing sometimes they give a break. I've ordered several things from them.

I am just a student but I got the Littmann classic S.E. ll in the breast cancer awarness pink. I like it because I do not think too many people will have that color and I love Littmann's!

I have a cheap NurseMates stethoscope that picks up sounds well. It is black, and I really don't care if it "walks away" since it cost only $15.

I also have a Prestige Cardiac Light stethoscope in a translucent, somewhat see-thru baby blue color. Since it weighs only 4 ounces, I don't even feel it around my neck. This one cost $35.

I have a Littman Classic II S.E. in Ocean Blue (like a light blue, I really like it!). The stethoscope itself is really nice and I can hear very well with it. If you're going to settle for a Littman, I would go no lower than the Classic II S.E.. I got mine from www.reddingmedical.com for $73.95 (with tax + S&H) which was already $15-$20 cheaper bc in stores the stethoscope is ~$84.99 and if you include tax (and the store in my area has almost 8% tax!) then it gets to be expensive. www.reddingmedical.com was also the cheapest place I found for the stethoscope, even cheaper than www.allheart.com. Good luck with your decision

I love my Littmann Master Cardiology stethoscope. And it is stealth (all black). I bought that one because no one has that type of stethoscope in the cardiac rehab program I work at.

I liked my Prestige Clinical I stethoscope. Worked very well in clinic and was lightweight, but I received the Master Cardiology when I graduated from the Master degree Exercise Physiology program. And of course the color was......STEALTH! Did I mention I LOVE the all black stetho!
