GRX CD27 Question - Bell side for peds

by Jek28

Hi, I just started nursing school 2 weeks ago and had a question about stethoscopes. I just purchased a CD27, and it came assembled with the adult diaphragm on one side, and a peds diaphragm on the other. I know it has the capacity to change into a cone bell on the "peds side", but what will happen if I need to use the bell side on a peds patient? Sorry, I'm just confused!

Edit: I misunderstood at first what you meant,

You could buy a littman tunable peds diaphragm for high and low frequencies. I have been told that the littman cardio III diaphraghms work on the GRx cd-27

I also believe that your normal sized steth should work adequately for peds. Many people say that they use their normal sized steths on children and they work fine, so you could just use the diaphragm and cone like you would normally.

I don't know if I totally understand your question or not but, if you want to use the ped bell side, all you do is twist the head until it clicks and you should be able to hear with the smaller bell. I hope that answers your question.
